Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026
Time: 1-3 PM
Instructor: Ana Jahannes (she/they)
General Registration: $50
BIPOC Fellowship Registration: $35 (Details below)
This 2-hour plaster pouring session is designed for students who have previously completed Slipcasting Fundamentals at Byrdies Pottery or have prior experience making plaster molds.
This is not a beginner class, but rather a guided open studio session where you'll have dedicated time, space, and support to pour your molds alongside an instructor. We'll begin by reviewing each mold setup to ensure everything is ready for a successful pour, then work together to calculate the correct amount of plaster, mix it properly, and pour your mold.
Please arrive with your mold fully assembled and secured in its container. This session does not include time for building or preparing mold boxes.
Included:
Review of mold setup and best practices before pouring
Guidance calculating plaster quantities
Mixing and pouring plaster
Instructor support throughout the process
Plaster for one mold (additional plaster available for purchase)
Prerequisite: Previous completion of Slipcasting Fundamentals at Byrdies Pottery or equivalent experience making plaster molds.
BIPOC Fellowship Spots
We reserve 3 discounted spots in each class for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color. If those are filled, BIPOC students are still welcome to register at the general rate. Learn more here:
