This class is geared towards those with a foundational understanding of glazing and an ongoing ceramics practice. We will experiment with dipping and brushing patterns that highlight our forms and give us new information about the glazes at our disposal. We will document our testing in order to analyze the results together on pickup day. All students can bring 2-4 pieces of bisque ware to be glazed, and we will have extra pieces on hand for additional testing.

Included:

• Materials & Tools (glaze, underglaze, etc.)

• Kiln firing for finished pieces

• Secondary meetup to discuss results and best practices

Pickup Info:
Finished work will be ready August 15th for pickup and meetup. Your teacher will contact you via email if your pieces are not picked up on this day. Please note: pieces must be picked up within 4 weeks of that email. Unclaimed work will be donated to Byrdie’s Free Pottery Box.

BIPOC Fellowship Spots

We reserve 3 discounted spots in each class for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color. If those are filled, BIPOC students are still welcome to register at the general rate. Learn more here:

COVID Policy

If a student tests positive for COVID-19, they must notify their instructor. We will follow current CDC guidelines and may require proof of a negative test before returning to class.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations 5 or more days before class: refund minus a 10% cancellation fee

• Cancellations within 5 days of class: 50% refund

• Cancellations within 24 hours of class: no refund
