This 8-session after school class is perfect for kids who love to make art, work with their hands, and dive into deep creative exploration. Led by teaching artist Rachael Hudson, students will learn a range of ceramic techniques including pinching, coiling, slab-building, and even get a chance to try the pottery wheel! We’ll also explore the history of pottery, the geology of clay, and play fun and engaging games along the way.
PICKUP INFO
Finished work will be ready approximately 4 weeks after class. Rachael will contact you via email when it’s ready. Please note: pieces must be picked up within 4 weeks of that email. Unclaimed work will be donated to Byrdie’s Free Pottery Box.
BIPOC Fellowship Spots
We reserve 3 discounted spots in each class for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color. If those are filled, BIPOC students are still welcome to register at the general rate. Learn more here:

ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Rachael Hudson is our studio manager and has been the Kids Club co-teacher for the past year. She is an experienced ceramicist, who has been playing with pottery for over 5 years. Rachael has been working in childcare for 15 years, and loves to encourage children’s creative exploration, playfulness, and autonomy.
COVID Policy
If a student tests positive for COVID-19, they must notify their instructor. We will follow current CDC guidelines and may require proof of a negative test before returning to class.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations 5 or more days before class: refund minus a 10% cancellation fee
Cancellations within 5 days of class: 50% refund
Cancellations within 24 hours of class: no refund
