In this six-week handbuilding course, you'll explore foundational clay techniques including pinch, coil, and slab construction. Projects may include cups, bowls, vases, trays, and sculptural forms—tailored to your interests and pace. The first three classes will cover the handbuilding basics of pinch, coil, and slab techniques. By the 4th and 5th class you are welcome to focus on one or more of these techniques to create any project you desire, with support from the instructor. The 6th class is reserved for glazing.
This class is geared toward all levels of experience.

Bisque and glaze firings
Instructor-led demonstrations and hands-on support
Use of studio tools and equipment
Pickup Info:
Finished work will be ready approximately 3–4 weeks after the final class. Your instructor will email you when your pieces are ready for pickup. Please collect them within 4 weeks of notification—unclaimed work will be donated to Byrdie’s Free Pottery Box.
BIPOC Fellowship Spots
We reserve 2 discounted spots in each class for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color. If those are filled, BIPOC students are still welcome to register at the general rate. Learn more here:

COVID Policy
If a student tests positive for COVID-19, they must notify their instructor. We will follow current CDC guidelines and may require proof of a negative test before returning to class.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations 5 or more days before class begins: refund minus a 10% cancellation fee
Cancellations within 5 days of the first class: 50% refund
Cancellations within 24 hours of the first class: no refund
