This 8 session after school class is perfect for your kiddo who loves to make art, work with their hands, and explore deep creativity. Led by teaching artist Lauren Rouatt (she/her), students will learn techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building. We’ll talk about the history of pottery, the geology of clay, and get into a bit of glaze chemistry too!

Dates: Tuesdays, April 9 - May 28; 4-5:30p

About the teacher:
Lauren Rouatt is an artist & educator who has been leading children’s art & nature programming in New Orleans for over 10 years. Some of her experience includes teaching Pre-k/K at NOLA Nature School, developing and managing the Studio in the Park at the new Louisiana Children’s Museum in City Park, managing youth programming & summer camp at Longue Vue House & Gardens, and working as a teaching artist at Mini Art Center, The Contemporary Arts Center, and Community Works. She is currently the Managing Director of Byrdie’s Pottery, and is super excited to bring kids clay programming to Byrdie’s.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations prior to 5 days before class start will receive a refund minus a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 5 days before class start will receive a 50% refund. There are no refunds once the class has started.
